Dealer Comments
This exceptional 1969 Porsche 911 S 2.0 Coupe represents a meticulous, long-term restoration completed between 2020 and 2025, executed with a clear focus on authenticity, craftsmanship, and preservation of originality. The restoration began with a complete disassembly of the vehicle, followed by thorough high-pressure, high-temperature cleaning before the body was soda blasted to bare metal. The exterior was then carefully refinished in its original Irish Green, returning the car to its period-correct appearance while maintaining the integrity of its classic lines.
The suspension system received the same level of attention, having been fully disassembled, sandblasted, powder coated, and rebuilt using genuine OEM components. New Koni shocks were installed to ensure proper driving dynamics while preserving the character expected of a vintage 911 S.
The engine underwent a comprehensive rebuild in 2012 and has accumulated less than one hour of run time since completion. During the rebuild, updated camshaft covers and oilers were installed to enhance reliability and longevity. Documentation confirms the vehicle retains its original engine and transmission, an increasingly rare and highly desirable attribute among early long-hood examples.
Inside, the car retains much of its original unrestored factory interior, preserving the authentic feel and originality collectors value. Replacement components, including the dash pad and headliner, were sourced directly from Porsche to maintain factory-correct quality and appearance. Attention to detail extends throughout, with major hardware restored to its original yellow zinc finish and marker lamps rebuilt using new old stock plastic lenses sourced from the mid-1980s.
The result is a beautifully restored, numbers-matching example that balances originality with thoughtful restoration, offering both collector appeal and the opportunity to experience one of the most iconic air-cooled driving experiences ever produced.
